TCR is now evaluating candidates for a Staff Accountant position for its operating division, located in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. TCR is focused on highly engineered, machined components that are utilized primarily in the automotive market. The Staff Accountant will be a hands-on position responsible for the monthly closing process, presenting timely and accurate financial statements and program and segment specific reports.  This position will be highly collaborative and analytical with the ability to drill down into costs to identify red flags and risks.  This person will also work closely with management to ensure they have visibility to Key Operating Metrics.  

The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Vice President of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce and submit accurate and timely monthly financial statements and reports
  • Maintain General Ledger
  • Assist in all areas of the monthly closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Monthly account reconciliations
  • Managing cash flow and providing cash flow reports
  • Maintain project related records, including contracts, change orders and billings
  • Review supplier invoices and terms to ensure proper accounting
  • Assist in the annual external audit
  • Create procedures for each process in the accounting department and for other departments to ensure a sound control environment.
  • Other business and financial initiatives as assigned

Key Experience / Skill Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or relevant concentration
  • 3+ years prior relevant experience
  • Knowledge of ERP Management System (Vantage/Epicor)
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
